CNA Training Program Overview

This 88 hour comprehensive course of study provides instruction and hands on skills training necessary for direct-caregivers to care for patients, residents, and clients while working in hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, mental health facilities, hospices, and home healthcare. It combines classroom lecture, laboratory activities as well as mandatory real-world hands on clinical experience in a local nursing home for three days.

Curriculum includes:

  • Communication and professionalism skills
  • Infection Control practies
  • Safety/Emergency procedures
  • Respecting and promoting resident's rights and independence
  • Legal and ethical consideration
  • Basic nursing and personal care skills including vital signs
  • Meeting the needs of the mentally impaired, the dying, and other special populations
  • Rehabilitation and restorative skills


Tuition includes: laboratory supplies, and student professional liability insurance. After the course, state CNA test preparation is offered. In addition, job search assistance and job leads are provided when available. Convenient payment plans available.

Additional fees not included in tuition

  1. Ceil blue uniform (required by 4th week of class)
  2. Textbook rental deposit
  3. TB skin test or chest xray
  4. American Heart Association CPR First Aid (optional)
  5. End of program state examination fee

Completion of the program requirements

After the completion of the training program the candidate must take and pass the state-administered competency evaluation examination. The examination includes a written/oral and skills competency examination that is evaluated by an approved Registered Nurse with the approved testing agency. Candidates who successfully pass the written/ oral and skills competency examination are included on the Georgia Nurse Aide Registry.
